    Pros +

    • The onsen that was available for guests! Along with the recommendations for food and cultural experiences (ie: renting a kimono from a local kimono school).
    • Cozy lobby. Responsive staff. Stylish rooms. Great spa. Free coffee and water in lobby. Fast wifi. Restaurant staff were nice. Big queen size bed (that wasn't just two twin beds put together). Spacious bathroom for Japanese standards.
    • Location was walking distance to the gardens and castle and a 15 minute bus ride from Kanazawa JR station. Breakfast had good variety and the hot bath was a nice extra. Facilities were well maintained and clean. Staff were generally friendly.

    Cons -

    • The "gym" needed actual free weights and workout benches. It was just one machine and two cardio stations. First room (on 12th floor) had loud machine/ventilation noises and vibrations so lost sleep two nights.
    • Parking was limited and we had to park at an affiliated car park a 5 minute walk away.
    • The spa situation. Only way to enjoy the spa with your spouse was to pay for it. There needs to be an option for a spa that is with clothes and mixed sex instead of all separated.

comfort and hotel staff. atmosphere was nice, free shuttle was very important and nice. Private spa was very nice, though not enough and full rooms.

The spa situation. Only way to enjoy the spa with your spouse was to pay for it. There needs to be an option for a spa that is with clothes and mixed sex instead of all separated.

Great everything! Staff was lovely, room was good, cleaning service was great and the onsen was Excellent!

    8AndreaPosted on: 1-19-2026

The front desk was very helpful. One woman who has beautiful nails assisted me in sending boxes to The next hotel. She also helped me book a taxi to gokayama. Without her help it would have been very difficult as my aunt has trouble with her legs. I do not remember her name. Staff was kind and respectful

Even tho I am Japanese American, I did not care for some of the guests who did not educate themselves with the culture of Japan. Most were fromEurope.

Nice public bath and the beds were comfy. Also great price and even greater staff

It would be nice if there was another vending machine with snacks downstairs or at least if they sold snacks to go with the alcohol

The hotel is modern and staff was very receptive. The room has a tatami and although you sleep in a mattress, you can feel the Japanese style.

    NA.

Very good location. Very good price.

They only have 3 washing machines that also do the drying as well for the entire hotel. There were constant lines of frustrated people to them.

This hotel was a steal. The staff was great, the location was great, and the onsen was great. It has a cute little bar that you can beer and sake. I would stay there again in a heart beat!

The rooms were a bit on the small side.

This was the nicest hotel we stayed in during our time in Japan over Christmas. The room was large enough for our family of 4 with 3 comfortable beds. The lobby was very nice, with a gym and an onsen. The onsen was a very nice extra to have, considering it was cold and snowing during our time in Kanazawa. The onsen was also tattoo-friendly, which is a hard thing to find in Japan. The lobby also had free coffees, teas, and waters. There was also a bar available for cheap drinks. The breakfast buffet was very nice. The location of the hotel is pretty good, with a few tourist areas within walking distance. There are a ton of restaurants nearby and some shops as well.

More drink options at the bar would've been nice, but I'm just nitpicking

Nice and welcoming, nice onsen.Lot of small restaurants nearby but book in advance because it was hard to find availability even at 5.30pm the 4 nights we were there!Lounge was nice in the evening, a good gathering space

A bit far to walk to the market (20 min walk)/geisha area (30 min walk)

    9FerdiPosted on: 1-3-2026

Easy check in and out.Not having to go past the fron desk each time going in and out is kinda nice.Huge room and great view.Public bath is also great.

location quite far from station.Compulsory cleaning is a bit inconvenient when you need a day to stay in hotel during the day/morning.Laundry cost too much.

    8GabrielaPosted on: 1-2-2026

Excellent location of the hotel close to all restaurants and bars. Staff very friendly and nice environment for sitting outside the room. The rooms are large and comfortable for Japan. I really liked the design.

Don't expect much from the breakfast. There is a small selection and it is rather very Japanese. Unfortunately, at 9:01 they don't let you in for breakfast. You need to get up early.

    10ErikaPosted on: 1-1-2026

We loved the stylish rooms, the onsens, and the sake bar.

Coffee was mediocre and could have been upgraded at breakfast.

    10IrenePosted on: 12-30-2025

Amazing hotel, the onsen is incredible and we spend there 3 very comfortable days! we had great views and the area was full of restaurant and near samurai houses!

    10AshleighPosted on: 12-30-2025

A gem of a hotel in Kanazawa. Excellent value for a good-sized room, a lovely communal lounge area with free drinks. Great breakfast too, a great way to start the day. This was our favourite hotel on our recent trip, where we stayed in multiple cities. About a 25min walk from the train station - we knew this when booking, but chose the location as it was close to lots of eateries, vintage stores, the gardens and samurai district. We'd come back for sure!

Great property, clean, modern, good amount of space.

    10MatsPosted on: 12-25-2025

This was almost the gold standard of how a nice, normal 4-star hotel experience should be. Everything was nice and clean, the onsen is as pretty as it looks in the pictures, the breakfast is nice, and staff was generally helpful. Elegant lobby, great location near a lot of bars and restaurants. Just low friction all the way.

I prefer that hotels give the room at least a little tidy every day, but they only clean every second day. I don't love that, but I also didn't really think much about it, and they replace your towels daily if you want them to.

    8HsiangPosted on: 12-23-2025

It’s pretty roomy. It was comfortable

Definitely an older hotel. It looks like it was updated so the room is older design.
